Scarf brooch measuring 80 x 61 mm, crafted in 925 sterling silver and featuring a beautiful 22 x 12 mm Larimar cabochon in a closed box setting. The designer's creation highlights curves resembling a flower, drawing the eye to the stone.
It was discovered by a priest in Barahona, Dominican Republic, in 1916; however, its popularity didn't surge until 1974 when Miguel Méndez named it larimar, combining his daughter Larissa's name with the word "sea." This blue color, unlike that of other rocks, results from the substitution of cobalt for calcium.
