Amethyst, Tsavorite and Smoky Quartz Ring

Ring No. 16 crafted in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver with faceted oval-cut stones measuring 4 x 3 mm: amethyst and smoky quartz, and a 2 mm circular-cut tsavorite. The stones are set in a rhombus pattern with the amethysts in the center, the quartz at the ends, and the tsavorite around the periphery. It is a delicate and elegant design.

Amethyst:

According to Greek mythology, Dionysus, the god of wine, desired a maiden named Amethystos. She wished to remain chaste and prayed to the gods for help. The goddess Artemis heard her prayers, transforming her into a transparent crystal. When Dionysus learned of this, humiliated, he poured wine over the rock, staining it purple. The Greeks and Romans drank from amethyst cups to avoid drunkenness.
