Purple fish

A fish-shaped sculpture measuring 24 cm high, 22 cm wide, 15 cm deep, and weighing 3 kg. This beautiful piece was carved from a single piece of fluorite and rests on an oyster shell made of the same stone.

The Brazilian sculptor draws inspiration from the underwater ecosystems of the tropical Atlantic, particularly on the northeast coast of Brazil, where coral reefs and rock formations are home to fish of amazing shapes and colors.

The choice of fluorite, with its irregular patterns and its ability to capture and reflect light, reflects the artist's intention to recreate the mystery of the underwater world, where each creature seems carved by nature itself over the centuries.

This fish is not intended to be an exact representation of any species, but rather a symbolic synthesis of the sea and its vital energy. Its solid, almost abstract form is reminiscent of petroglyphs or archaic idols, as if it were an ancestral figure emerging from the seabed.

The work is, in essence, a tribute to aquatic life as a source of wonder and permanence, sculpted in stone to withstand time just as reefs do.
