Rainbow Obsidian Bracelet

This 190mm long bracelet is crafted from 950 silver and features rainbow obsidian cabochons, polished and circular, measuring 23mm and 17mm in diameter. The design incorporates the largest obsidian stone in the center, flanked by two smaller stones. These are connected by silver links and segments. The stone has a black hue, but when light hits it, it displays green reflections.

Obsidian is not a mineral in the strict sense, but a glassy rock, very rich in silica, that originates from the rapid solidification of magma. Its characteristics and appearance, as well as its widespread distribution, have made it famous since antiquity and have led to its use in rituals and ornamentation. Obsidian, along with flint, is known as "the warrior's rocks." Rainbow obsidian owes its iridescent colors to the presence of microbubbles of water trapped during its formation. In certain Stone Age cultures and early civilizations, it was highly valued because it could be used to make very sharp blades. Mesoamerican cultures used obsidian to make tools, ornaments, and weapons. The Egyptians considered it a powerful talisman and made amulets from it, sculpted in the shape of scarabs (their sacred animal), which they placed in the tombs of the deceased to ease their passage to the afterlife.
