Labradorite Ring

Size 24 ring crafted in high-purity 950 silver, featuring a polished oval cabochon of labradorite measuring 21 x 14 mm. This beautiful green stone with blue highlights is set in a silver box with a bezel clasp and complemented by two silver hoops that create a wave-like design, giving the piece a rustic yet delicate style.

It was first discovered in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula, Canada. Ranging from translucent to opaque, it can occur in whitish, dark gray, or grayish-black colors with bright metallic reflections of blue or green. These reflections are due to an optical effect called labradorescence, which is produced by the diffraction of light as it strikes the lattice planes of the stone's structure: the albite and anorthite layers, the polysynthetic twinning, and the inclusions.
