Golden Labradorite Pendant

This 64 x 38 mm pendant is crafted from high-purity 950 silver. The centerpiece of this striking pendant is a 42 x 29 mm golden labradorite. Viewed from the correct angle, its surface radiates metallic reflections. These reflections are due to an optical effect called labradorescence, which lends it a mysterious and captivating shimmer. It was first discovered in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula, Canada. Ranging from translucent to opaque, it can occur in whitish, dark gray, or grayish-black colors with bright metallic reflections of blue or green. These reflections are due to an optical effect called labradorescence, which is produced by the diffraction of light as it strikes the lattice planes of the stone's structure: the albite and anorthite layers, the polysynthetic twinning, and the inclusions.
