Amethyst pendant with a trap and garnet

This 36 x 31 mm pendant is crafted from 925 sterling silver and features a 30 x 19 mm amethyst, set horizontally, and a 3 mm round garnet in the loop of the chain loop. Both stones are polished cabochons. The pendant is simple yet attractive, thanks to the subtle tones of the main stone.

According to Greek mythology, Dionysus, the god of wine, desired a maiden named Amethystos. She wished to remain chaste and prayed to the gods for help. The goddess Artemis heard her prayers, transforming her into a transparent crystal. When Dionysus learned of this, humiliated, he poured wine over the rock, staining it purple.
