Onyx, garnet and cubic zirconia ring

Size 14 ring made of rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver with a faceted, teardrop-shaped black onyx measuring 15 x 10 mm and set with prongs, flanked on either side by oval-cut red garnets measuring 6 x 4 mm, also set with prongs. These stones are surrounded by small cubic zirconia stones that encircle and envelop the onyx, securing it above one end.

Onyx:

Its name derives from a Greek word meaning nail. It has a volcanic origin, formed by the accumulation of volcanic gases. In ancient times, it was considered a stone of misfortune, believed to generate sadness, fear, and hallucinations. It was also thought to contain a demon that emerged at night to sow discord.
