Emerald and cubic zirconia earrings

Hoop earrings measuring 20 x 9 mm, crafted in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver, with a Spanish-style clasp. Each earring is crowned with an 8 x 6 mm oval emerald, set with prongs and accompanied by triangular structures filled with small cubic zirconia.

The green color comes from a mixture of other minerals, including chromium, vanadium, and iron, which gives it a bluish tint. In natural light, the true essence of emeralds is easier to discern, while artificial light can expose internal fractures in the stone caused by the glare. In ancient European and Indian cultures, the emerald was associated with Mercury, the messenger of the gods and the god of journeys, sleep, and dreams, and was therefore considered the stone of divine inspiration.
