Labradorite Lavender Bracelet

This bracelet is crafted from high-purity 950 silver and features a 20mm polished, circular-cut cabochon of lavender labradorite, set in a box with a bezel clasp. The bracelet comprises the central stone, flanked by 23mm wide silver bands with internal openwork floral motifs. It was first discovered in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula, Canada. Ranging from translucent to opaque, it can occur in whitish, dark gray, or grayish-black colors with bright metallic reflections of blue or green. These reflections are due to an optical effect called labradorescence, which is produced by the diffraction of light as it strikes the lattice planes of the stone's structure: the albite and anorthite layers, the polysynthetic twinning, and the inclusions.
