Septaria pendant

This 70 x 37 mm pendant is handcrafted in high-purity 950 silver. It features a magnificent cabochon-cut septaria, polished to enhance the stone's colors and optical effects. The septa, or fractures, are a striking feature, widening in a characteristic way towards the center. The whitish fissures are filled with microcrystalline minerals. This striking pendant is bezel-set, and its coppery tones are an ode to autumn.

Concretions have long been considered geological curiosities, with descriptions dating back to the 18th century attesting to this phenomenon. Due to their variety of unusual shapes, sizes, and compositions, concretions have been interpreted as dinosaur eggs, animal fossils, and plant remains (called pseudofossils).
