Septaria pendant

A 40x27 mm pendant, handcrafted in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver. This piece features a magnificent cabochon-cut septaria, its surface polished to enhance the stone's colors and optical effects. The fractures, or septa, which widen characteristically towards the center, are a prominent feature. The whitish fissures are filled with microcrystalline minerals. This striking pendant is bezel-set, and its coppery tones are an ode to autumn.

Concretions have long been considered geological curiosities, with descriptions dating back to the 18th century attesting to this phenomenon. Due to their variety of unusual shapes, sizes, and compositions, concretions have been interpreted as dinosaur eggs, animal fossils, and plant remains (called pseudofossils).
