This 55 x 33 mm pendant is crafted from high-purity 950 silver and features a large, polished, oval-cut cabochon of bloodstone (also known as heliotrope), measuring 40 x 29 mm. This beautiful stone is characterized by its red flecks within a deep green background. The design is simple, allowing the stone to take center stage.
Medieval Christians used heliotrope to carve scenes of the crucifixion and martyrs into this stone, which led to it also being called the Martyrs' Stone. The red inclusions resemble bloodstains.
