Green Aventurine Pendant

Pendant measuring 46 x 29 mm crafted from high-purity 950 silver, featuring a polished oval cabochon of Green Aventurine measuring 30 x 22 mm. The stone is set in a silver box with a bezel-style clasp, adorned with silver details on both sides and the bottom.

Aventurine is a compact quartz whose green appearance is caused by inclusions of green fuchsite platelets (chromium mica).

It has been known by this name since the 17th century, derived from the Italian expression "a ventura" (at random), which refers to the accidental discovery of the synthesis of aventurine crystal, or goldstone, an artificial stone very similar to aventurine at that time. The name is also attributed to the seemingly random distribution of the small mica flakes that make up aventurine. Other names for aventurine include prasio, from the Greek word prasos (leek), referring to its green color, or simply green quartz.
