Stromatolites are the result of the activity of cell groups in colonies that form sedimentary rocks. The most numerous fossilized cells were found in such rocks originating at the edge of warm seas.
These rocks are therefore the result of the union of unicellular beings, cyanobacteria, which live in warm seas and shallow waters.
