Amethyst Pendant

This 15 x 15 mm pendant is crafted from rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver and features six faceted, teardrop-shaped amethysts, each 6 x 4 mm. The stones are set with prongs to resemble a ripe fruit. The chain loop is concealed behind the stones, adding a touch of elegance.

According to Greek mythology, Dionysus, the god of wine, desired a maiden named Amethystos. She wished to remain chaste and prayed to the gods for help. The goddess Artemis heard her prayers, transforming her into a transparent crystal. When Dionysus learned of this, humiliated, he poured wine over the rock, staining it purple. The Greeks and Romans drank from amethyst cups to avoid drunkenness.
