Amethyst pendant

Pendant measuring 55 x 13 mm, crafted in 950 silver, featuring two faceted amethysts in different shapes. One is a teardrop-shaped stone measuring 24 x 13 mm, and the other is a circular stone with a diameter of 11 mm. The stones are prong-set, with the circular stone positioned below the teardrop-shaped stone, separated by a silver band.

According to Greek mythology, Dionysus, the god of wine, desired a maiden named Amethystos. She wished to remain chaste and prayed to the gods for help. The goddess Artemis heard her prayers, transforming her into a transparent crystal. When Dionysus learned of this, humiliated, he poured wine over the rock, staining it purple. The Greeks and Romans drank from amethyst cups to avoid drunkenness.
