Lapis Lazuli Ring

Size 24 ring, crafted in high-purity 950 silver, crowned with a beautiful oval cabochon of lapis lazuli measuring 10 x 8 mm. The stone is set in a silver box with a bezel clasp, positioned parallel to the ring band, which is the same width as the band. It is a simple, unisex design.

The term lapis lazuli comes from the Latin word "lapis," meaning stone, and "lazuli," an Arabic word (allazjward) meaning paradise, sky, or simply blue. In the Middle Ages, it was also used as a dye for ultramarine. It was ground into powder to produce the intense blue color, and Leonardo da Vinci, Albrecht Dürer, and Fra Angelico all referred to it as blue gold, as it commanded a similar price.
