Welo Opal and Black Spinel Ring

Ring No. 18 crafted in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver with a 4 x 3 mm oval cabochon welo opal and 1 mm faceted black spinels. The design consists of 18 opals arranged concentrically in the center and surrounded by a row of spinels.

Black Spinel:

Spinel is a double oxide of aluminum and magnesium with a very complex structure. Spinel was not recognized as an independent mineral until 150 years ago; before then, it was classified as a ruby.

Welo Opal:
