Emerald and cubic zirconia ring

Size 18 ring, handmade in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver. It features four oval-cut emeralds, 4 x 3 mm, set with prongs to enhance the characteristic green color of this gemstone. The design comprises two flowers adorned with cubic zirconia, flanked on either side by emeralds encased in a double band also set with cubic zirconia. It is an elegant and feminine design.

The green color comes from a mixture of other minerals, including chromium, vanadium, and iron, which gives it a bluish tint. In natural light, the true essence of emeralds is easier to discern, while artificial light can expose internal fractures in the stone caused by the glare. In ancient European and Indian cultures, the emerald was associated with Mercury, the messenger of the gods and the god of journeys, sleep, and dreams, and was therefore considered the stone of divine inspiration.
