Ring No. 24 in 950 silver, made with a hand-faceted imperial topaz in a circular cut of 11 mm, set with a bezel closure on a wide, fully forged silver band, creating textures that make it look rustic, yet elegant.
The designation "Imperial" for this type of topaz originated in Russia, the location of the first fields, now depleted, during the Tsarist period. Imperial topaz was considered the stone of the sun.
Its reddish-orange color is due to traces of chromium, iron, manganese, titanium, and vanadium. Topazes are valued according to their color. From least to most valuable, they are yellow, orange, red, pink, cherry, lilac, and salmon, which is the most expensive and valuable.
