Moldavite is one of the most fascinating gemstones, both for its extraterrestrial origin and its intense symbolic and energetic significance. It formed approximately 15 million years ago when a meteorite impacted what is now southern Germany. The extreme heat of the impact melted terrestrial rocks and fragments of the meteorite, which were ejected into the air and solidified upon falling, giving rise to this green, glassy tektite. Its main area of ​​discovery is Bohemia (Czech Republic), especially in the Moravian and Moldavian regions, from which it derives its name.
