Peridot and Yellow Sapphire Earrings

Hoop earrings measuring 53 x 12 mm, crafted in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver and set with faceted peridot and yellow sapphire stones. The 4 x 3 mm peridots are prong-set and hang freely, with the sapphires at the bottom arranged in a single row. They feature a Spanish-style clasp.

Peridot:

The modern term “peridot” derives from the Arabic word faridat, meaning “gem.” In the Middle Ages, it was widely used by the Church. It was the preferred gemstone of the Baroque era. Peridot was already being used in Egypt as a gem and healing stone two thousand years before Christ. This mineral is also known as chrysolite.
