Star Garnet Ring

Size 20 ring crafted in 950 silver with a 12 x 10 mm oval-cut star garnet cabochon. The stone is secured with prongs on a simple silver band, from which the ring band extends. It is a simple and delicate design.

The colors are more intense due to the presence of iron; they are dark carmine, purple-violet, brown, and dark red-orange.

It is said that Noah used a garnet lamp in order to steer his ark in the darkness of night.

The star is formed by an optical phenomenon called asterism that occurs as a reflection of light in fibrous or needle-like inclusions within the stone, which are found in a parallel fashion.

These garnets are very rare and have only been found in the USA and India.

Only the Almandine Garnet varieties and a mixture of this with Pyropo exhibit this phenomenon.
