Emerald pendant with chain

This 23 x 36 mm pendant is crafted from 925 sterling silver, recycled from a previous pendant that featured a 3 mm emerald in its center, adding life and elegance. This beautiful hand-crafted pendant is accompanied by a 40 cm long chain, also recycled, which sits close to the neck when worn.

The green color comes from a mixture of other minerals, including chromium, vanadium, and iron, which gives it a bluish tint. In natural light, the true essence of emeralds is easier to discern, while artificial light can expose internal fractures in the stone caused by the glare. In ancient European and Indian cultures, the emerald was associated with Mercury, the messenger of the gods and the god of journeys, sleep, and dreams, and was therefore considered the stone of divine inspiration.
