Amethyst Ring

Adjustable ring crafted from high-purity 950 silver with a large, polished, circular cabochon of amethyst, 20 mm in diameter. This beautiful stone displays its violet hues, in varying intensities, set in a silver setting. The ring band splits at the stone, and the adjustment is made from the bottom.

According to Greek mythology, Dionysus, the god of wine, desired a maiden named Amethystos. She wished to remain chaste and prayed to the gods for help. The goddess Artemis heard her prayers, transforming her into a transparent crystal. When Dionysus learned of this, humiliated, he poured wine over the rock, staining it purple. The Greeks and Romans drank from amethyst cups to avoid drunkenness.
