Emerald and cubic zirconia pendant

Pendant measuring 39 x 29 mm, made of rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver, with eight oval emeralds, 4 x 3 mm in diameter, set with prongs, forming a central circle and surrounded by cubic zirconia. This emerald ring is separate from a second peripheral ring, which in turn has two flowers at its top.

The green color comes from a mixture of other minerals, including chromium, vanadium, and iron, which gives it a bluish tint. In natural light, the true essence of emeralds is easier to discern, while artificial light can expose internal fractures in the stone caused by the glare. In ancient European and Indian cultures, the emerald was associated with Mercury, the messenger of the gods and the god of journeys, sleep, and dreams, and was therefore considered the stone of divine inspiration.
