Earrings with opal, spinel, white topaz and cubic zirconia

These 23 x 13 mm hoop earrings are crafted from rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver and feature an 8 mm cabochon-cut Welo opal, 1 mm faceted black spinels, and a 3 mm faceted white topaz. The design places the opal in the center, surrounded by black spinels that create a path leading to the white topaz, which is itself surrounded by cubic zirconia. The earrings fasten with a clip closure.

Black Spinel:

Spinel is a double oxide of aluminum and magnesium with a very complex structure. Spinel was not recognized as an independent mineral until 150 years ago; before then, it was classified as a ruby.
