Raw Imperial Topaz crystal measuring 27 x 13 x 11 mm and weighing 9 grams. This beautiful natural specimen has a characteristic intense caramel brown hue, rectangular crystallization, and remarkable translucency.
The designation "Imperial" for this type of topaz originated in Russia, the location of the first fields, now depleted, during the Tsarist period. Imperial topaz was considered the stone of the sun.
Its reddish-orange color is due to traces of chromium, iron, manganese, titanium, and vanadium. Topazes are valued according to their color. From least to most valuable, they are yellow, orange, red, pink, cherry, lilac, and salmon, which is the most expensive and valuable.
