Emerald and cubic zirconia ring

Ring No. 18 crafted in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver with a faceted oval-cut emerald measuring 7 x 5 mm. The stone is located in the center of the ring, set with prongs and flanked on both sides by small cubic zirconia stones.

The green color comes from a mixture of other minerals, including chromium, vanadium, and iron, which gives it a bluish tint. In natural light, the true essence of emeralds is easier to discern, while artificial light can expose internal fractures in the stone caused by the glare. In ancient European and Indian cultures, the emerald was associated with Mercury, the messenger of the gods and the god of journeys, sleep, and dreams, and was therefore considered the stone of divine inspiration.
