Cockatoo

Weighing 3.7 kg, measuring 39 cm high, 13 cm wide, and 12 cm deep, this piece features a cockatoo design. It stands out for its perfect depiction of a cockatoo, with its brilliant white plumage, textured details on its body and crest, and an exquisite color scheme. The light green tree trunk with darker veining completes the piece, with the bird's nest at its center, containing three white eggs.

To create this piece, the artist selected white onyx for the bird's body, meticulously crafting the perfect feather textures and the final sheen. The crest was made of green onyx, also with the finest detail, while the beak is made of green agate. Leaving no detail overlooked, the green serpentinite trunk houses the bird's nest, where we can see three eggs carved from white dolomite. This work is truly unique.

The white onyx comes from Mendoza, the green onyx from San Luis, the green agate from Entre Ríos, while the serpentine and dolomite are from Córdoba. All the stones are from Argentina and were specially selected for this piece.
