Moonstone, Sunstone and Lavender Labradorite Choker

Choker made of 950 silver, with a 30mm chain, for a total length of 42mm. It features cabochons of 14mm moonstone, 17 x 14mm lavender labradorite, and 19 x 14mm sunstone. All the stones are of varying shapes and exceptional quality, as evidenced by the vibrant colors that catch the light. It is a delicate and highly attractive piece due to its multiple hues.

Moonstone:

Its color and luster are due to the reflection of light on albite and orthoclase. It was very popular during the Roman Empire, when it was believed that its interior was composed of moonbeams. Labradorite:

It was first discovered in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula, Canada. These reflections are due to an optical effect called labradorescence, which is produced by the diffraction of light as it strikes the lattice planes of the stone's structure: the albite and anorthite layers, the polysynthetic twinning, and the inclusions.
