Size 17 ring crafted in high-purity 950 silver. This simple yet elegant piece features a beautiful polished cabochon of light blue larimar measuring 18 x 13 mm. This larimar gem is surrounded by a handcrafted silver bezel frame on a delicate silver band.
It was discovered by a priest in Barahona, Dominican Republic, in 1916; however, its popularity didn't surge until 1974 when Miguel Méndez named it larimar, combining his daughter Larissa's name with the word "sea." This blue color, unlike that of other rocks, results from the substitution of cobalt for calcium.
