Labradorite Lavender Ring

Size 11 ring crafted in 925 sterling silver, featuring a beautiful lavender labradorite stone in a polished rectangular cabochon cut measuring 22 x 16 mm. This lovely stone is set in a silver case with a bezel clasp, secured by a split ring at the base of the stone to ensure stability when worn.

It was first discovered in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula, Canada. Ranging from translucent to opaque, it can occur in whitish, dark gray, or grayish-black colors with bright metallic reflections of blue or green. These reflections are due to an optical effect called labradorescence, which is produced by the diffraction of light as it strikes the lattice planes of the stone's structure: the albite and anorthite layers, the polysynthetic twinning, and the inclusions.
