Madness and Sanity

A 28.4 kg (64 lb) sculpture, 53 cm (19 in) high, 27 cm (10 in) wide, and 27 cm (10 in) deep, in the shape of a human head. This imposing work was achieved after many hours of labor by an expert in mineral handling. Fluorite is a particularly difficult stone to work with due to its abrasiveness and hardness, making this piece a unique and unparalleled work.

It is a sculpture carved from purple fluorite, a mineral extracted from the mountains of Córdoba, Argentina.

This work seeks to capture the balance between unbridled passion and serene wisdom.

The madness is reflected in the challenge of working with a mineral with diverse ranges of hardness, a task that requires boldness and determination.

On the other hand, sanity is manifested in the achieved delicacy, combining the rusticity of the stone in its natural state with the precision and beauty of the carved forms.

Both stones come from quarries located south of Córdoba, Argentina
