Pendant measuring 36 x 21 mm crafted from high-purity 950 silver, featuring a polished oval-cut cabochon of Imperial Topaz measuring 24 x 20 mm. This beautiful specimen is set in a silver box with its back open, allowing light to enter and for contact with the skin.
The designation "Imperial" for this type of topaz originated in Russia, the location of the first fields, now depleted, during the Tsarist period. Imperial topaz was considered the stone of the sun.
Its reddish-orange color is due to traces of chromium, iron, manganese, titanium, and vanadium. Topazes are valued according to their color. From least to most valuable, they are yellow, orange, red, pink, cherry, lilac, and salmon, which is the most expensive and valuable.
