Pendant of Peridots and Garnets

A 25 x 11 mm pendant made of rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver, featuring 5 peridots and 5 garnets, all faceted in a 3 x 2 mm navette cut, and individually selected to create this delicate piece. The stones are set with prongs in an alternating pattern, facing each other, simulating the shape of an almond.

Peridot:

The modern term “peridot” derives from the Arabic word faridat, meaning “gem.” In the Middle Ages, it was widely used by the Church. It was the preferred gemstone of the Baroque era. Peridot was already being used in Egypt as a gem and healing stone two thousand years before Christ. This mineral is also known as chrysolite.
