Amber pendant

A 55 x 42 mm pendant with a chain loop in high-purity 950 silver, crowned by a spectacular 45 x 42 mm polished heart-shaped amber. This amber is a plant resin, in an incredible golden tone with natural ochre markings. The stone is held by a chain loop inserted within the amber, allowing its great translucency to shine through.

Amber is a plant resin. The oldest recovered amber dates back to the Late Carboniferous period (320 million years old). Amber is not a mineral but an organic product. It is the fossilized resin of ancient trees that lived some 25 to 50 million years ago, but some pieces that have been found can be as old as 130 million years or more.
